This course covers lay-responder CPR for adults, children and infants, choking, use of an AED and basic first aid for urban settings. NOTE: THIS COURSE DOES NOT SATISFY HEALTHCARE PROVIDER CERTIFICATION.

Course Overview for BLENDED LEARNING (Online!):
This course is becoming a popular option for those that want to spend less time in the classroom. This is a three step process.
Step 1: Complete the ONLINE course. This course is self-paced and you mAy start and stop as you need to. The online portion may take 1-6 hours to complete and can be accessed 24/7. Keep the online completion certificate from the e-learning course. Use the following links to select the correct course and get started:

Step 2: Schedule a skills evaluation session with PTS. You will be required to email us the printed course completion certification prior to the skills session. *You may schedule a session PRIOR to completing the online portion.
Step 3: Attend a practical skills evaluation. Participants MUST complete the online portion PRIOR to attending the skills evaluation with a qualified instructor (a printed certification must be presented to your instructor). The session takes about an hour. You will demonstrate the skills for performing CPR/AED and/or First Aid, and a full understanding of your responsibility of your role while performing CPR, using an AED and First Aid.
Upon successful completion of online class and skills demonstration, students receive a card valid for two years. [The card is issued per the curriculum chosen].

Overview for NEW & RENEWAL:
We offer BOTH American Red Cross AND American Heart Association Bloodborne Pathogens courses. This course is intended to provide quality training to meet OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standards. This course will teach employees how pathogens are spread, how to prevent exposure incidents, use of engineering controls, practicing good personal hygiene, proper cleaning of equipment and supplies, and how to recognize, report and follow up with exposure incidents.
Traditional Course length: Approximately 1 hours

ADD ADVANCED BLEEDING CONTROL TRAINING
ADD Advanced Bleeding Control training to a same-day Basic First Aid & CPR/AED course!
Overview for NEW Certification:
This course was designed by the American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) to provide the lay responder training for controlling severe bleeding, including direct pressure, commercial pressure bandages, commercial tourniquet use and packed dressings (homeostatic). According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, traumatic injuries are one of the leading causes of death for people under 50 and therefore ANYONE may need this course.
COURSE LENGTH: +1.5-2 hours
Prerequisites: We highly recommend that participants have had some type of First Aid course in the last two years, but no previous first aid training is required.
Certification: Successful course completion earns you an ASHI Advanced Bleeding Control certification.
*The videos and hands-on skills may be too graphic for some participants. We do use fake blood and injuries for the practical skills to reinforce skills.
