OVERVIEW FOR NEW & RENEWAL:

 

Petrichor Training Solutions offers American Safety & Health Institute Wilderness First Aid & American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid. â€‹

PREREQUISITE: All WFA and WRFA courses require current/valid CPR/AED certifications. Blended-Learning options can be added for an additional discounted fee to either AHSI WFA or Red Cross WRFA. Please contact us for more details.

MINIMUM PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENT: we require at least 4 participants for this course.

Overview for NEW & RENEWAL:

 

The Wilderness & Remote First Aid course provides individuals who work or recreate in remote locations first aid knowledge to prepare for unexpected emergencies when immediate medical care is not available. This fast paced, hands-on course is designed to meet the needs of trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts and individuals working in remote locations. In addition to our classroom lecture and demonstrations, participants will have a lot of time practicing their skills and participating in realistic scenarios. 

 

This course is taught by a seasoned instructor in two day sessions or two and a half day sessions; most sessions are held on the weekend. Learning takes place in both classroom and outdoors regardless of weather conditions; please come prepared for wet, muddy, cold or hot environments.

 

PREREQUISITES: Valid CPR/AED certification (We will offer this course separate from the WFA course). No previous first aid training is required. You must be 14 years old to attend this course. All participants under the age of 18 must have parental consent.

 

CERTIFICATION: Successful course completion earns you an American Red Cross Wilderness & Remote First Aid certification. If applicable, you will also earn an Adult CPR/AED certification. Both certifications are valid for two years.

Overview for NEW & RENEWAL:

 

Add an American Red Cross CPR/AED blended-learning skills check to the American Red Cross Wilderness & Remote First Aid course. 

​

This course is becoming a popular option for those that want to spend less time in the classroom. This is a two step process.

 

Step 1: Complete the ONLINE course. This course is self-paced and you my start and stop as you need to. The online portion takes 1.5-2 hours to complete and can be accessed 24/7. This link will be sent upon payment. 

 

Step 2: The skills session can be integrated into the WRFA course (additional time will be added to acommodate the skills check) OR participants can attend a practical skills evaluation (additional fees may apply). Participants MUST complete the online portion PRIOR to attending the skills evaluation with a qualified instructor (a printed certification must be presented to your instructor). The session takes about 20-30 minutes. You will demonstrate the skills for 1 and 2 rescuer CPR/AED, and a full understanding of your responsibility of your role while performing CPR.

 

Upon successful completion of online class and skills demonstration, students receive an ARC eCard valid for two years.

Course fee is for the skills check ONLY and is not valid with any other combination. PTS will provide FREE access to the eManual and blended-learning links.

Add an American Health & Safety Institute (ASHI) CPR/AED blended-learning skills check to the ASHI Wilderness First Aid course.

This course is becoming a popular option for those that want to spend less time in the classroom. This is a two step process.
